Our Eco-Responsible Commitments
-
We work with local vendors who offer seasonal menus. Vegetarian options are always available. We order exactly the number of meals needed to minimize waste.
-
The Festival gives priority to local groups and those with environmentally friendly travel policies. During the festival, both artists and technicians (who stay on-site all week to avoid commuting) get around primarily on foot. Our volunteers provide carpooling services to and from the train station.
Festivalgoers who arrive by train or bus are eligible for a discounted ticket price for the concerts.
-
We are reducing the amount of printed materials we produce (posters, flyers, and booklets). Our digital communications are well managed. We have significantly reduced the number of printed concert tickets. We do not produce any promotional items.
-
The festival program includes outdoor activities, such as the Musical Walk or the Singing Hike, during which participants explore the local surroundings (with commentary and a guide).
-
The festival is organized by a team of several dozen volunteers.
The pricing policy is inclusive. The "Passerelles culturelles" performances reach out to audiences who are "distant" from classical music.
We provide personalized assistance to people with disabilities.
-
We place a strong emphasis on gender balance in our artistic teams. The Festival’s permanent staff adhere to gender balance.
The president of the association completed a training course on prevention and awareness of gender-based and sexual violence.
Like all other economic actors, festivals have an important role to play in the ecological transition to address the many environmental challenges we face. Given its mountain heritage and its location in the heart of the Alps, the Valloire Baroque Festival has, since its inception in 2010, made a commitment to minimizing its environmental impact. Today, we are formalizing this approach to take it even further.
