From the Renaissance period to contemporary music Consort of recorders
Monday July 31st – 17:00 – Benoît’s sawmill
Consort Brouillamini is a rather singular ensemble of five recorder players, all trained at the Lyon CNSMD. In the course of their studies, the musicians received top-notch tutoring provided by world-renowned recorder players: Pierre Hamon, Pierre Boragno, and Peter van Heyghen. In 2010, the ensemble obtained a Master’s degree in chamber music, with unanimous first class honours.
Drawing on the study of ancient treatises, the Consort Brouillamini seeks to liven up the performance of the musical repertoires of the 16th and 17th centuries.
Interpreting its own transcriptions of masterpieces of classical and baroque music, the Consort Brouillamini offers original, many-faceted programmes which immerse audiences in unexpected soundscapes. Besides, the ensemble has a keen interest for contemporary works. Thus, in 2009, the musicians teamed up with Lyonese composer Jean-Marc Serre to create five « Haïkaï ».
The Consort Brouillamini has given several concerts in the Rhône-Alpes region and other parts of France : Saison musicale at the Auditorium of the Musée de Grenoble, Nantes, Strasbourg, Paris, Festival des Jeudis Musicaux at Royan, Festival baroque de Tarentaise, Festival Sinfonia en Périgord, Festival La note envolée, Saison musicale Les concerts d’Anacréon, Festival Toulouse les Orgues. The ensemble has also performed abroad : Gijón (Spain), Festival Ecchi Lontani at Cagliari (Sardinia).
In 2015, the Consort Brouillamini was invited at « Génération Jeunes Interprètes », a France Musique programme, hosted by Gaëlle Le Gallic.
